A Message from DCMAC President

Wishing you peace, hope, and love throughout this holiday season and into the New Year.

2020 has been a year for the ages. As the year commenced, we had optimism that it would bring us 20-20 vision for the future. As it progressed, we were humbled and compelled to rely on faith as we quickly learned that none of us had the vision or foresight to know what was on the horizon.

What we do know is that there is power in persistence, togetherness, and love. In 2020, we leveraged technology to hold each other near throughout the pandemic, tough times, and good times too. We made strides, broke barriers, and literally changed the trajectory of the future for LU and DCMAC.

As we imagine and create our next steps in 2021, I hope that we remain steadfast in faith and optimism amid continued challenges. This time in our lives, this pandemic, is a gateway between one world and the next. The holiday season is the perfect time to renew and restore the faith, hope, and love that will be required to get us through.

Happy holidays to all,

-Charisse Carney-Nunes, Esq. '88

Fear or Keep Hope Alive

Hello Lions.  I'm sure you've heard "this is our new normal" or people's fears connected to this disease, COVID-19  (coronavirus disease 2019).  Some things we do know are:

  • ·people are stressed, finding difficulty in coping, have "cabin fever"

  • ·kids are missing prom's, graduation's, senior trips, friends at school, etc.

  • ·businesses are closed and may not open back up

  • ·people have lost jobs or their pay has been cut

  • ·there's no cure & it's still spreading

  • So what do we do?  How do we get through this?

FIRST STOP!

NOW TAKE A DEEP BREATH!

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."   Psalm 46:1
